THE BEGINNING:
A picture, tell a thousand words.
In this picture frame is a 1992 photo taken when I was 11 years old. My mother and us kids were traveling back from visiting our father who worked in the mine in Johannesburg. We didn't have a home where we could live with our father, he lived in a hostel room with ten other men and when we visited, we stayed at the rondavels the mining firm had built for "visiting families".
No little girl likes to "visit" her champion, the rondavels provided had one open plan bedroom and one double bed, There is no dignity in financial lack. When my father was retrenched in 1998, our family was plunged into poverty, indignity, and a life of hard choices. In many ways, the story of Zoluhle begins in my childhood, I lived the indignity of growing up in a free market, where the rules are known by a few, my vision is of a different African experience.
OUR GROWTH:
We want you to know WHY we care, so you can understand our Values, Our Mission, and the care we take in developing programs and products that move our clients forward and add value to our partner organizations. We have grown exponentially over the years because we do not compromise on our values and we are clear about WHY we exist. The experience of our Founder and CEO might have been the flicker that ignited her passion for social justice, but it is because her experience has been the reality of so many families and communities in Africa, that the fire for accelerated economic opportunity for all is burning bright and powers so many dreams.
"Accelerating economic opportunity for all is about expanding social justice and securing our democracy "
